Founded in Donegal in 1866, Magee 1866 is one of Ireland’s most recognisable heritage fashion and textile brands. John Magee began by buying and selling handwoven Donegal tweed from local weavers who divided their lives between the sea, the land and the loom. The business later developed its own weaving mill beside the River Eske and remains closely connected to the landscape, craft and textile traditions of County Donegal.

Today, Magee 1866 is a fifth-generation family business creating contemporary menswear, womenswear, accessories, homewares and luxury fabrics. Its signature Donegal tweeds are designed and woven at the Magee mill in Donegal Town, where natural fibres, distinctive colour and generations of expertise give each cloth its character. The collections combine tailoring and traditional materials with relaxed pieces designed for modern life.
