Hope Macaulay

Hope Macaulay is a family-run, woman-owned contemporary fashion brand, founded by textile designer Hope Macaulay on the North Coast of Northern Ireland.

Founded in 2020, what began as Hope knitting pieces from her bedroom has grown into a network of 23 skilled knitters working from home across Northern Ireland, helping to preserve traditional craftsmanship.

Hope is best known for her signature Colossal Knit Cardigan. Rather than following traditional patterns, she developed her own technique — hand-processing yarn to achieve a distinctive thickness, then knitting entirely by hand without needles. Today, these pieces are brought to life by her team of knitters using responsibly sourced materials, including premium merino wool.
