Ashvale Farm Shop & Tea Rooms

Founded in 2014 and owned by the Herron family, Ashvale Farm Shop has grown from a small farm shop and sixteen-seat tea room into one of County Down's best-loved independent destinations. Today, the second-generation family business is operated by Edward, Julie and their daughter Emily-Jane, with additional family ventures including a boutique and garden centre located on-site.

Following a devastating fire in 2022, the family rebuilt and reimagined the business, reopening in 2023 with expanded facilities and a renewed commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience. The result is a thoughtfully curated destination where visitors can enjoy locally sourced food, artisan products, seasonal displays and a welcoming countryside atmosphere.

The Tea Room and Orangery serve breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and homemade sweet treats throughout the day, while the farm shop showcases a carefully selected range of local produce, gifts and speciality food products. Combined with the garden centre and boutique offering, Ashvale provides visitors with a complete lifestyle experience that encourages people to slow down, browse and enjoy the surroundings.

Recognised with the Best Eating Establishment Award 2025, Ashvale continues to build a reputation for quality, hospitality and supporting local producers throughout Northern Ireland.
